TravelAlert aggregates third-party emergency information. It does not replace official government instructions. We are continuously adding national weather and civil-protection feeds — see this page for the latest status.

Known blind spots

  • Real-time terror & sub-national security events

US State Department advisories are issued at country level and updated periodically — they will not surface a specific incident in real time. For the latest minute-by-minute picture, consult local news and your embassy.

  • Other governments' travel advice

We currently use the US State Department feed. UK FCDO, German Auswärtiges Amt and other national advisories are not yet integrated — they often agree with State Dept but can differ on individual countries.

  • Sub-threshold weather outside covered regions

Where no national met-service feed is integrated, Open-Meteo only surfaces events above hard thresholds (heat ≥35°C, wind ≥70 km/h, rain ≥100 mm/day).
