Legal

TravelAlert is an informational aggregator of publicly available emergency data. It is not an emergency notification service and must not be relied on as a sole or primary source of life-safety information. Always follow instructions from local authorities and official channels such as Wireless Emergency Alerts, EU-Alert, and local sirens.

1. Purpose and scope

The Service aggregates and displays emergency and weather information published by third parties — including but not limited to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), the Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System (GDACS), the European Meteoalarm network, national meteorological agencies, and government travel advisories. We do not author, verify, or endorse this content and we are not affiliated with these agencies. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

2. No warranty of accuracy, completeness, or timeliness

Data is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that alerts will be:

  • delivered;
  • delivered on time;
  • accurate or free from error;
  • complete; or
  • cover your specific location.

Sources may be delayed, incorrect, or unavailable. Network, device, operating system, browser, permission, or battery conditions may prevent delivery of any alert or notification.

3. Not a substitute for official systems

The Service does not replace and is not interoperable with official government emergency notification systems. You must maintain independent means of receiving emergency information, including local broadcast media, official mobile alert systems, and instructions from authorities in your physical location.

4. Assumption of risk

You acknowledge that emergency situations require professional judgment and official guidance. You assume all risk associated with relying on the Service or any information derived from it. You agree that no reliance should be placed on the absence of an alert.

5. Marketing language

Where the Service uses language such as "alerts near you" or "stay informed," this refers to surfacing publicly available data the Service has retrieved. It does not constitute a promise to notify you of any specific event.

6. Refunds and cancellation

Paid TravelAlert plans (Essential and Voyager, monthly or yearly) include a 30-day free trial and you can cancel — or toggle auto-renewal off and back on — at any time. For our full refund terms, see the Refund Policy.
